Drunk driver arrested in Kentucky

Although it is no secret that drunk drivers cause countless accidents on the roads of Kentucky every year, all too many road users still choose to get behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol. Sadly, it is often other road users who pay the price, as a single mistake on the part of a drunk driver puts everyone else on the road at risk. As a consequence, innocent people are left with serious injuries or even lose their lives.

In Lexington, a 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence, as well as driving despite having a suspended license. According to reports, police picked him up at the scene of an incident where his vehicle is said to have struck someone in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim was hospitalized, but his injuries are not believed to have been life-threatening.

If this happens to you, it is worth considering taking legal action as you may be able to win compensation for your injuries. You might also be awarded punitive damages. This is an additional sum that is used to discourage others from driving under the influence of alcohol and compensate the victim for the irresponsible actions of the drunk driver.

Although it might seem like a lot to think about when you are still reeling from an accident, you deserve justice and remuneration for your injuries. Also, you do not need to handle the matter alone as an attorney may be able to assist you with your case. He or she can advise you about your options and might be able to guide you through the details of your claim to help you pursue fair compensation and a swift resolution to your case.
