When a loved one is killed, covering the costs can be difficult

The roads of Kentucky are no strangers to accidents. It is a sad fact that countless drivers, passengers and even pedestrians come to harm on the roads each year. Fatigue, bad weather and distracted driving can all contribute to such accidents, so it is important to stay alert. Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, if someone else on the road is driving recklessly, you could still be hurt.

In Bullitt County, a Kentucky State Police trooper was injured while in the process of making a traffic stop. The trooper was transported to a hospital with injuries that were deemed to be non-life-threatening. As the ambulance made its way there, it was escorted by police officers. Meanwhile, lanes of the Interstate where the accident occurred were closed and the traffic rerouted.

The trooper was listed as being in a stable condition following the accident. However, things could have been much worse. Furthermore, no matter how serious an accident is, it still causes distress and trauma to the victims. On top of this, they then may have medical bills to contend with, or even be forced to take time off work to recover.

If you or a loved one has fallen victim to a car accident that was caused by someone else's negligence or recklessness, you may be wondering what to do next. Seeking justice and compensation for your injuries might be the way forward. This could allow you some closure on the incident and cause those responsible to be held accountable for their actions. An attorney can advise you on whether you have a case and, if so, how to proceed.
